Celebrity makeup artist Thierry Pourtoy is one of the most sought-after makeup artists in Hollywood. He is also one of the genuinely nicest guys you could hope to meet. Pourtoy creates many of the faces at gala Hollywood events like the Oscars, Golden Globes and Emmy's, where the world is watching. Naturally, he is booked months in advance. Pourtoy works extensively with top international photographers who seek him out because he is the best.

Thierry Pourtoy was born in Cannes, France. As a small boy he was captivated by the classic beauty of American movie stars such as Gene Tierney and Jennifer Jones and dreamed of one day working in Hollywood.

After studying art at the world renowned L'ecole Des Beaux Arts in Paris, followed by beauty school, his talent was quickly discerned. Immediately after graduation at the age of eighteen, Pourtoy began working as a makeup artist with Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent both in print work and on runway shows.

At twenty he followed his heart and moved to America to realize his lifelong ambition. As soon as he arrived, he began working for Jose Eber in Beverly Hills, then considered the best salon in town. From there, he was lured away by Cristophe, at the time the only other top salon in Los Angeles, building a loyal following among celebrities and regular clients alike, and a huge demand for his genius with makeup.

In 1997 Pourtoy created PALETTE MAQUILLAGE with the goal to make the best quality, most beautiful makeup affordable to all women. Pourtoy's signature look, now translated to PALETTE, is enhancing a woman's natural beauty by using neutral colors highlighted by the season's hot colors and styles.

Thierry's work has recently appeared in magazines such as Vogue , InStyle , Vanity Fair and Harper's Bazaar . For the September 1999 issue of InStyle , Thierry was asked to interpret the fall makeup looks on four hot young actresses. His celebrity clients include Paris Hilton, Nicky and Kathy Hilton, Jamie Lee Curtis, Elizabeth Taylor, Charlize Theron, Salma Hayek, Yasmin Bleeth and Tea Leoni.

In the spring of 2001, Mary Swaab of Chicago based Colorlab called upon Thierry's expertise, when he was asked to consult on the colors for their custom blend lipstick kit hitting stores this winter. His involvement extends from choosing the "palette" to fronting media and promotional events throughout the United States.

Thierry has a long relationship working with the Hilton family. He is the personal makeup artist for Paris, Kathy and Nicky, and has been working with them since 1988 for photo shoots, personal appearances and parties. He was the makeup artist on " I Want to Be A Hilton " for NBC. He created many of the looks seen in Paris' bestselling 2004 book Confessions of an Heiress and has worked with her on her covers for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar . IN 2005 he accompanied Paris on the international tour for the launch of her perfume and movies Pledge This and House of Wax .

He lives his lifelong dream on a daily basis. He has a home in Los Angeles, California and commutes regularly to New York.
